Calla Lilies

"Consider the lilies" Matthew 6:28
is a Bible verse that spoke to me as soon as I first read it. I've grown calla lilies in the past and absolutely loved their unique shape, colors and vase life. Funnily enough, calla lilies aren't actually in the lily family (I think God has a sense of humor when he told me to grow calla lilies this year). 
 

The Deets about Calla Lilies
Calla lilies love full sun, well draining soil and are perennial in zones 8-10. Here in zone 7, these are tender perennials-- they can come back each year in the landscape if mulched well. If grown in containers, they will need to be brought inside over the winter. Like dahlia tubers, the bulbs can be dug up and stored overwinter and after a few years can be divided like peony roots.
